Another quick summary of the weeks events:

Vendredi, le juillet 11
Crystals Castles was basically a melange of human sweat and electro thrash. Alice Glass looks like a zombie and at one point J was nice enough to push me right into her when she decided to crowd surf. Hah. Almost almost. Kev Kev came in for the show from Kingston and it was nice to see him again. After-show events are left undocumented because my camera was temporarily out of order so no awesome pictures of all of us eating FILET O FISHES! (well, just J and I). Boo. That and I probably looked like a bag of garbage. Who wants to see that? J, like no other, drove us home, which I was suuper thankful for, because the metro closes at 12am. He's like the most humble person I know and Emily has decided that he is like her grandpa. So true. Haha.
I went to the pomme-pomme craft fair on the weekend at La Sala Rosa. So awesome. It reminded me of the "ain't your grandma's craft sale" in winnipeg (which was probably a knock-off of the fair in Ottawa) I picked up a few things, some posters, a silkscreened tee and a Supayana top. Something that I've been meaning to buy for a long time now. Periodically I check her blog/ebay/etsy store and pretty much want everything I see. I met her too, which was kind of weird. I basically felt like I was telling her I was her biggest fan. Oh the internets. I hope there is another craft sale before I leave. There were a lot of things I wanted to pick up but I didn't get a chance to go back. Dimanche, le 13 juillet
Sunday morning (more like afternoon) was welcomed with a hearty breakfast at Eggspectations. I think everyone has decided that every sunday we're having breakfast there. It has been established. I've already decided what I'm going to order for tomorrow. :) This sunday, I think it is safe to assume that discussion will be on Elaine's liaison with the infamous "Felippe". Dorm room GOSSSSIP. Hey-o! jeudi, le 17 juillet
The afternoon was spent shopping on Mont-Royal, and eating more waffles at G Point. This time I took pictures. Look at that sweet goodness. I also stopped in a Cupcake shop called Petite Gateaux. Last nights pre-game party on floor 17. Sociables. google it.
And finally...At one point in the week I was down St. Denis where Juste pour rire was. There were some cooky things going on, such as these two men with vegetable/fruit babies.

Blagh

The weather here has finally cooled down a bit, and my room is less stuffy as it was two days ago. The last events in a nutshell: Emily and I waiting for the metro, I cant remember where we are headed. Grocery shopping me thinks. - Which I'm already running low on. le mercredi 9 juillet (har har har) we went to an activity, Theatre de la Verdure (spectacle de danse) which was an outdoor contemporary dance performance, in a park. We didn't get to see the complete performance because we got rained on. Boo hoo. I thought it was cute how some people continued to watch in the rain, some pulling out umbrellas. It was nice to be rained on. Headed over to Frite Alores on St. Denis, for some poutine, and bought me-self a phone card finally. On Thursday, I went to Musee des beaux-arts de Montreal, and later ventured to the Yves Saint Laurent LOVE exhibit. I won't post any pictures of the Musee, they pretty much suck. I saw an Eames chair, Frank Llyod Wright dining room table set and a Frank Ghery cardboard chair, and some other jazz. I wasn't allowed to take any pictures inside the YSL exhibit. Oh well.
After that .....I journeyed to Amherst to HQ gallerie and boutique, met the owner who is from winnipeg too. Super nice, recommended some things to do, that include tuesday nights at casa del popolo and a craft sale this weekend at la sala rosa - which i'm pumped for. Met up with J and bobo for eats and later watched Adrift in Tokyo at the Fantasia film festival. Soooooo good. Soooooo funny. I'm hoping to (no actually i;m going to) watch some more. Thats it for now.....blah blah blah. Crystal Castes toooonight.

UPDATE:

There are dead bugs in my fridge. Nice. Real nice. :(

I have finally settled in my dorm room (whoopie doo.) and I basically live in jail cell. Earlier this evening I found a dead beetle on its back, it was a little unsettling. My mattress is covered in hospital green plastic, making it impossible to sleep on at night, and it is UNBEARABLY hot in here, due to the lack of the goodness that is called AC. Thank God I have a fan. I want to say I'm extremely excited and pumped to learn french and live here for a month, but in reality I think I'm not. I super miss home (already) and the duo (no longer the trio! pooo! ). I even miss J even though he lives here, just when I was beginning to get used to things. It was good to talk with Che tonight and catch up, left me all teary eyed. Its only a few days in, I think I just have get used to this.
A recap of what has happened the last couple of days: Pizza Hutttttt yum. yum. Les Studios, Res. BOO. Emily's "jaffa" cakes view from my window. booorrring. Bierre on st. laurent. 2 dollah chowmein My jail cell. I miss these goons.

I think I've decided that I don't like flying. The flight was pretty flat, but aside from the shitty recycled air that left my throat dry and sore, and that I had no other option but to sit between two people, it was relatively pleasant (in the sense that I generally don't like flying). Laubo checked me in, which was a bonus and Elaine came to see me go, extra bonus. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were on the flight as well, that was kind of neat, I guess. I didn't sit with any of them though. Because they are larger men, they are seated through out the plane and not altogether to keep it balanced. I thought that little factoid was neat. The girl next to me was reading a french book called La Fee Carabine and I don't know that means. What else? I hate chewable pills, gravol gross. So now I'm basically just waiting for J to pick me up, oh and it's raining. I'm kind of glad for that. Wait, actually I am.
